Conditions of Use

Mountain X ChampionshipsMountain bike and BMX riding are dangerous recreational sports and all riders use this track at their own risk.

  • This track is intended for BMX and Mountain bikes only. Motorised equipment
  • of any kind is expressly prohibited
  • Use bikes only for their intended use
  • Bikes must be in good working condition and well maintained
  • Please respect this track and surrounds and keep the area clean and tidy at all times
  • Unauthorised track modifi cations are prohibited
  • The track will be closed to the public during offi cial Club events and wet weather

Protective Equipment

Riders are required to wear appropriate safety equipment as indicated below

Mountain X Track Gear Guide

  • Full-face helmet
  • Long-sleeve top and body armor
  • Riding gloves
  • Protective pants or shorts
  • Shin and Knee pads
  • Footwear

Responsibility Code

To ensure your safety, the safety of others and your enjoyment of this track, please observe this code and track etiquette.

  1. Know your ability, always stay in control and be able to stop to avoid other riders, pedestrians, objects and natural features. It is your responsibility to stay in control on the ground and in the air.
  2. As you proceed or overtake another rider, avoid other riders in front and beside you.
  3. Ensure your bicycle and equipment is maintained in good working condition.
  4. Observe and obey all signs and warnings.
  5. Before riding this track you must have the knowledge and ability to ride safely.
  6. Do not ride if your ability is impaired by drugs or alcohol.
  7. Adults are responsible for supervising children within their care.
  8. Always wear protective equipment when riding the track.

Track Etiquette

  • One way - This is a one way, downhill track. Riding in the opposite direction is unsafe and prohibited.
  • Entering - Only enter the track at the start point. For the safety of all riders, do not enter at any other point.
  • Keep moving - For your safety, do not stop anywhere on the track. Pull off the track if you are not moving.
  • Berms and turns - Do not ride on, sit on or slide down berms or turns.
  • Closed when wet - To avoid damage to the track, do not ride the track when it is wet.

General hazards of mountain biking

There are inherent and obvious risks of personal injury to riders and spectators associated with off-road bike tracks. These include:

  • the potential for collisions with other people, obstacles, objects and natural features on and close to the track
  • the very nature of off-road biking
  • weather and light conditions.

Specific hazards of this track

Specific hazards associated with this track include:

  • jumps of varying height and length
  • steeply banked berms and turns
  • changes in surface conditions.

Riders must make themselves familiar with the track and these hazards before riding the track.
